Social Events
Join us for our monthly coffee morning at the Portivo Lounge in Gloucester Quays. We meet on the first Tuesday of every month. Tables are reserved for us between 1000 and 1200 hours. Come and join us for fun and banter.
We hold monthly lunches at various pubs around the Gloucester area. They usually take place on the third Tuesday or Wednesday of the month. Please bring your partners and come and join us. Besides our monthly lunches we also have a Christmas lunch early in December. So, watch this space for details.
There are several Combined Armed Forces Veterans Breakfast Clubs around our area. Breakfasts are held in several locations either on a Friday or Saturday. Currently breakfasts are held at the Old Nelson Stroud on the first Friday of the month, Warren Café at Attwoolls on the third Friday of the month. On the first Saturday of the month in Tewkesbury location to be confirmed. On the second Saturday of the month at the Whittle Brockworth, and on the third Saturday at the Aviator Staverton Airport. There are also breakfast clubs in Cirencester, Wotton and Slimbridge. Please contact me and I can confirm the details of each club and the person to speak to about attending. Battle of Britain Service to be held on Sunday 21st September 2025 at St John’s Church, Churchdown at 1400 hours. All are welcome.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
All costings are being researched and further information will be forwarded to those who have expressed an interest in any of the events. Final pricings will be dependent on numbers attending and the group discounts available.
When we are departing from St. John’s Church, Churchdown, (GL3 2DB), we request that transport costs are paid in cash as we board the mini-bus. We have permission to park our cars in the Church car park, but if there is a function or a Service in progress, we are asked to be as quiet as possible and park in the rear car park. Access to this area is from St. John’s Road, through the initial car parking area and bear left to park to the left of the church buildings.
When paying for an event you may choose from the 3 following methods:
1. Pay cash at a Portivo Coffee morning.
2. Personal cheques should be made payable to ‘RAFA Gloucester’ which may be handed to a Committee Member or paid directly into our Branch Account.
3. BACs transfers to ‘RAFA Gloucester Branch’. Sort Code: 60-09-02. Account No. 36785008. The preceding information may also be used for cash and personal cheques.
Please use a reference when paying directly into the RAFA account by any method. Your name followed by the event title will help us check bank receipts. For example, “Smith – Birds”.
